Mormodes lineata Baterman ex Lindl. (1841) is accepted species by POWO Kew. The native range of this species is Mexico (Oaxaca, Chiapas) to Honduras. It is a pseudobulbous epiphyte and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Description:
Candidate plant has 15 flowers on one upright inflorescence. Plant height from bottom of the bulb to the end of inflorescence 29-cm. Bulb 8-cm tall x 3.5-cm in diameter. Plant grown in 7.5-cm plastic pot in sphagnum moss. Plant came as flask from Louisiana Orchid Collection.
