Cattleya Penny Candy (Cattleya harrisoniana x Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Penny Kuroda Gp)). This cross has been registered by Brookside in 2010.

This plant labeled as (Cattleya harrisoniana x Cattleya Caudebec). This is one of the most confusing group in Cattleya alliance! RHS right now recognized four C. Penny Kuroda - Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Penny Kuroda Gp), Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Sophia Martin Gp), Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Francisco Sueiro Gp) and Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Caudebec Gp)!

Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Penny Kuroda Gp) is cross between Cattleya Summer Snow and Cattleya guttata and registered by Hernlund in 1976.

Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Sophia Martin Gp) is cross between Cattleya Summer Stars and Cattleya guttata and registered by Martin in 1978.

Previous Awards:

There is no AOS awards for this cross.

There are 2 AOS awards for Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Penny Kuroda Gp) on just one cultivar 'Spots'. You can find several awards for Cattleya Penny Kuroda (Caudebec Gp), however I would consider this as a different cross.

There are 32 AOS awards for Cattleya harrisoniana, however many of them are determined to be possible hybrids with Cattleya loddigessii (because Cattleya harrisoniana and Cattleya loddigessii were at one time considered to be the same species).
