Bulbophyllum treschii, Jenny, 2012 is accepted species by WCSP, Kew. This is relatively new Bulbophyllum species, just recognized in 2012. Bulbophyllum treschii found in Malaysia at elevation of 1000 to 1500 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyle.


Previous Awards:

There are just a two AOS awards for this species - Bulbophyllum treschii 'Cosmos' AM/AOS (80 points) in 2019 and Bulbophyllum treschii 'Swamprad' CHM/AOS (81 points) in 2014. 


Description:

Bulbophyllum treschii has 4 flowers on one inflorescence.

Dorsal Sep. W - 0.8 cm;    Dorsal Sep. L - 0.8 cm;

Lat/Sepal W - 0.6 cm;       Lat/Sepal L - 18.5 cm;

Plant has been screened.

Judges noted that flowers are the same or a little smaller than previously awarded. Four flowers on one inflorescence is not enough to receive an award. Judges hopes that this plant can produce much more inflorescences when mature and will be a great candidate for the cultural award.
